Meet Maureen Browne

B.A, H.Dip.(Ed) Primary, H.Dip.(Ed) Secondary, M.A (Ethnomusicology.), M.A (M.T), IACAT.

MAUREEN is a music therapist and holistic practitioner hailing from one of the oldest areas of Galway City – The Claddagh. Introduced to music from a young age, the violin was her first instrument and as her love of the instrument grew, she knew that music would play a major part in her life’s work and personal journey.

By the young age of 22, she was touring as a musician internationally, had acquired a Masters degree in Ethnomusicology and had qualified as a school teacher. During her teaching career, Maureen had personal experience of ill health. As a result, she was deeply drawn to explore the connection between music and health diving into how music scientifically improves an individual’s health and well-being through various practices. She decided to undertake a Master’s degree in Music Therapy at the University of Limerick where she was awarded a First Class Honours in her studies. She has established her own music therapy practice and is now practicing in Galway city and county working with both adult clients and children within the fields of mental health, intellectual disability, grief, perinatal and post-natal health, palliative care, well-being, and dementia. She provides group sessions and one to one sessions.

Maureen's holistic journey continued to expand after completing her Masters in Music Therapy, which led her to train as a bioenergy practitioner. She earned an Energy Healing Diploma from the School of Light, an internationally recognised certification accredited by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists. Additionally, she holds a Diploma in Vibrational Medicine (Sound Therapy) from the Shannon Estuary Retreat Training Academy, accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine. Maureen's diverse qualifications reflect her commitment to holistic healing and personal growth.

Maureen is committed to expanding her knowledge expertise. Currently, she is pursuing a diploma in anatomy and physiology, further enhancing her understanding of the human body and it's functions.
